HUGE Sodexo Rally & Civil Disobedience

Thursday, April 15th, Ohio State USASers hosted a rally made up of over 200 sodexo employees, students, and union organizers.  The rally began at 2:00 on the oval in front of the library, where speeches were given by workers, community leaders, and union representatives from as far abroad as the UK and France.  The rally then continued as the protestors marched across the oval, displaying banners with phrases such as “Clean Up Sodexo”.  The protesters then travelled to high street, in front of the student union, where 19 protesters blocked off high street.  The protesters had coordinated the action ahead of time with the Columbus Police Department.  The protesters were arrested and sent to jail overnight.  The action resulted in a very large amount of media coverage, all of which was very positive.
